Today is Poppa's first day at his new job. With his new job comes a new work schedule. He won't see the kids in the morning anymore, so to try and give him his fill of the Little E's, I'll try and post a pic of the kids throughout the work week, as much as possible.
Here they are eating lunch. Ev is gnawing on a rib and Ellena has a piece of rib meat hanging out of her mouth... Attractive. We had a busy morning, taking Piko to the vet and Evan got to show us his classroom for Open House. School starts tomorrow - yippee!
Friday was Poppa's last day of work. Evan had the bright idea to take a picture before they went to work together... yup, Evan got to go to work with Pops. Ellena wanted to go along too, but she had to settle with hanging with me for the morning. After 7 years with his old company, he is looking forward to starting his new job next week!
Today we went to the Evergreen State Fair. We've never been to this fair before and thought it would be fun for the kids to experience. We had a fun-filled day and probably covered only half of the fair!
Some of our favorite parts of the fair - And all FREE!:
* farm petting zoo - Ellena LOVED the baby pygmy goat
* farm activity - So simple, but the kids had so much fun gathering eggs, apples, potatoes and milking a wooden cow.
* chicken coop raffle - They let the kids climb through the coop.
* car "warm-up" at the Speedway - so fast and loud!
We got to play a few games, ride rides, eat lunch, and hang with friends. Such a great time... but we are all pretty tuckered out. But watch out - everything is pricey! The Costco package helped a little.
The brainwashing has begun... the kids got their first Husky gear... and they LOVE it! Guess how many times I had to snap their picture before I finally got them both to smile at the same time - 18!

Our neighbors were waiting all summer for their lilies to bloom. Unfortunately, they recently moved away and never got to see the lilies! So today I took the kids out to pose with the lilies so I could send them a picture.
