Ellena's 2nd Professional Haircut
Pops usually gives Ellena's hair a trim when it starts getting wispy. Since our haircut place had a $7.99 special going on, I asked Ellena if she would like to get her hair cut there. She was very excited! Just like at the dentist, she sat very still and listened to the hairdresser's directions. Ellena ended up with a sleek looking bob - very stylish!
Ready to Go
Ellena was so anxious to get going on our errands, she got herself all ready to go. She put on her boots and her ducky backpack and picked out a truck book to take in the car.
Evan, on the other hand, was content to stay at home with his new library book.

Kids
Ellena found a steal at Target today - Disney Princess house slippers for $1.98. She was tickled pink!
Here's Evan posing with his latest Lego creation. That kid loves to build!

Poppa's Birthday "Cake"
Poppa got to choose his birthday dessert and he went with the cherry chocolate almond croissant bread pudding! Poor Evan got the stomach flu last night and has been sleeping all afternoon. Luckily, Ellena helped me put together the dessert. Such big muscles on my little helper!

TV Snuggles
Today the kids were feeling very snuggly during tv time. They made a little pillow fort for themselves on the couch and snuggled in together - very sweet!

Pics from Today
Happy New Year! We have been busy cleaning out our closets and today was my first opportunity to snap a few pics of the kids. Evan is posing with his Power Miner Legos. What cracks me up about this picture (besides his stance) is that he's wearing a vest he found in one of his storage bins. It's a 2T that Ellena decided she wanted to take for herself. Of course, Evan had to mooch in and reclaim it for himself. Can't believe it still fits him. So now we've had a few tug-of-war matches over who gets to wear the vest.
Ellena was in a mood today! She didn't want to be in the picture... she wanted to take the picture. The kids have their own cameras that they can play with, but mine is off limits. So she was moping around, avoiding my camera and pushing the stool around. I tricked her and caught her on the other side of the island. Got a great smile, with a hint of rascal-ness in her eyes. Now imagine that same expression as she takes Evan's most favorite stuffed animal, Penguin, and hides him away! That girl!
